Panorama of Great Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza

Welcome  to my e-portfolio.

Take a look at the header photo above.  Visible on the right-hand side is a bit of scaffolding, just in front of the Great Sphinx of Giza.  It is one of the oldest standing structures in the world, but the Sphinx has undergone renovations since ancient times.  Some repair attempts have worked; others have failed.  Over time, conservationists have tried new methods and learned from past mistakes.  Although the Sphinx is made of stone, it has progressed through the years almost as if it were living.

I believe writing should be treated with the same care and respect.  A great piece of writing is never finished.  A great piece of writing changes over time, as readers find different interpretations or meanings, and as the author learns, improves, or finds new solutions to old problems.

As a writer, I am a work-in-progress.  Always getting better; always learning from my past.

Although it may be painful to look back on old pieces that I know I could write better now, without reflection and revision I would never improve.

With this portfolio I hope to show how I have progressed as a writer throughout my college career.  How I have developed my style, refined my arguments, and learned to take risks.  And I hope you will take this journey with me.
