About

Hello! I'm Marley Kalt, a senior at the University of Michigan. As you may be able to tell from this website, I like to write. Even more than I like writing, I love to learn. Most of the writing I've done, and nearly every piece in this portfolio, started with something I was curious about. For me, writing is about more than putting words to paper (or digital word document). It's about discovery. I use writing to explore new topics and to make sense of what I have learned. Putting together this portfolio has shown me how big a part writing plays in my life and all the different ways I can use writing to learn about myself and the world around me.

About Me

I am from West Bloomfield, Michigan, but plan to continue calling the beautiful city of Ann Arbor home after my graduation from U of M. I'm currently studying Communications and Spanish, with a minor in Writing. When I'm not in class, working part-time, or writing, I like to cook (and eat) healthy dishes, try new types of exercise (although Pure Barre will always have my heart), be with friends and family, and watch television and movies (all for my Comm major, of course).

As part of my awesome minor, I created this portfolio to display my favorite works. Beyond being pieces that I feel are some of my best, all of the works here allowed me to be creative, try new things, and discover who I am as a writer. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them!
